Small Claims

The Small Claims Court is a simple process allowing individuals and businesses to commence an action for an amount of up to $35,000.

Your neighbour damaged your property when emptying his pool and you want him to pay for the repairs? You sold products to a restaurant and the restaurant refuses to pay because they were delivered late? Your contractor does not reimburse you for materials he did not use? The Small Claims Court handles any claim or action for the payment of money or the recovery of property where the amount claimed does not exceed $35,000.

The Centre can help you understand the rules and procedures of the Small Claims Court if you intend to sue an individual or a business for the payment of money, to obtain a remedy for harm caused, or to recover property that belongs to you.
