Are you the landlord of a residential property? Are you the tenant of a rental unit like an apartment or a house? The Residential Tenancies Act sets out the responsibilities and obligations of landlords and tenants in Ontario.

The Ottawa Legal Information Centre offers a free 30-minute meeting with a lawyer in person or by telephone to all residents of Ontario. Information, referral and support services are offered in English and in French, on a confidential basis.

The Legal Information Centre can help you understand your rights and obligations so you can handle your legal problems relating to a rental agreement, rent, necessary repairs and renovations, insurance, or any other issue pertaining to rental units in Ontario.
